O našom hlavnom meste:
Bratislava je hlavné a zároveň najväčšie mesto Slovenskej republiky, ležiace na rieke Dunaj. V dávnych časoch mala obrovský význam ako korunovačné mesto kráľov i kráľovien. Dnes je najvýznamnejším mestom štátu. Je mestskou pamiatkovou rezerváciou s viacerými pamiatkami národného významu.
Dominantou či aspoň jednou z dominánt mesta je pri Dunaji sa nachádzajúci Bratislavský hrad, sídlo prezidenta a národná kultúrna pamiatka. V období Rímskej tadiaľ prechádzali jej hranice a kvôli strategickej polohe sa tu Rimania rozhodli postaviť dôležitú pevnosť. Prvá stavba na tomto mieste sa ale datuje ešte do dôb 3. tisícročia pred naším letopočtom.
Bratislavská zoologická záhrada sa rozkladá na ploche celkovo obrovských 96 hektárov, z ktorých asi tretina je priamo prístupná návštevníkov. Celkovo sa tu chová takmer tisíc druhov zvierat. Obľúbeným miestom je napríklad pavilón šeliem, kde si môžete veľmi zblízka pozrieť levy, tigre či jaguáre a leopardy.
Len nedávno bol turistom znovu sprístupnený ozajstný monument mesta, gotická katedrála Svätého Martina. Práve tu sa korunovali noví králi, kráľovné ríš, ktorých súčasťou bola v danom čase Bratislava. Okrem iného sa tu nachádza klenotnica, kde sa nachádza mnoho vzácnych predmetov, napríklad aj ornát, ktorý tejto katedrále údajne darovala a sama vyšívala samotná Mária Terézia.
Bratislava je miestom dejiska významných festivalov. V rámci hudby mala dlho veľký význam Bratislavská lýra, čo sa týka chemického priemyslu, významom prekračuje hranice Incheba. Známa je výstava kvetov pod názvom Flóra. Dôležitým, unikátnym festivalom je tiež Bienále ilustrácií Bratislava.
Mesto napriek mnohým pozoruhodnostiam zatiaľ nie je miestom veľkého záujmu turistov, čo môžete využiť Vy sami či Vaši zahraniční známi, ktorí si chcú užiť príjemnú a nie drahú dovolenku a pritom sa vyhnúť prílišnému ruchu.
